“The Aftermath: Surviving Psychopathy” kitabı, psikopatik özelliklere sahip bireyler hakkında farkındalık yaratmaya ve bu bireylerin olumsuz etkilerini azaltmaya adanmıştır.
Vizyonumuz
Psikopati kaynaklı zararların azaldığı bir gelecek hayal ediyoruz; bu gelecekte artan farkındalık, daha etkili önleme, tedavi ve mağdurlara, ailelere ve psikopatik özelliklere sahip kişilere daha iyi destek sağlanmasına yol açacaktır.
Psikopati nedir?
Psikopati, yalan söyleme, başkalarını sömürme, pervasızlık, kibir, cinsel düzensizlik, zayıf özdenetim ve başkalarına karşı empati yoksunluğu gibi özelliklerin bir araya gelmesiyle ortaya çıkan bir kişilik bozukluğudur. Psikopatik özelliklere sahip bireylerde sosyal duyguların (sevgi, empati, suçluluk ve pişmanlık) eksikliği görülür.

Aftermath Hakkında
2006 yılında Dr. David Kosson tarafından kurulan Aftermath: Surviving Psychopathy, psikopatiden etkilenen kişilere destek olmak amacıyla araştırmacılar, klinisyenler ve mağdurlar arasında bir işbirliği olarak hayata geçti. Dr. Robert Hare ve Dr. Paul Babiak’ın desteğiyle, web sitesi 2008 yılında eğitim, iletişim ve iyileşme için bir platform olarak yayına başladı.
