Help Committee Report 2020

In 2020, the Aftermath Surviving Psychopathy Foundation received 39 contacts. Here we provide summary information about people who contacted us, including the countries from which people wrote to us and why. As always, we provide no information about any individuals to protect the privacy of people who are in touch with us.

For this report, we also do not count other legitimate attempts to reach us. For example, we are not including contacts to donate money to the Foundation or emails that are related to the other operations of the Aftermath Foundation. We are also not counting sales emails (people who want to offer us services for money) or group emails in which someone reaches out to a group who may or may not know why they are receiving them.

People saw many of the resources that we publish in different languages. We currently publish at least some of the science-based information about psychopathy in 12 languages. We are always hoping to find ways to reach more people who are being hurt by psychopathic people. Spread the word!

(If you speak two languages, please contact us and offer to translate!)

Location of Help Requests in 2020

Outcome of Help Requests in 2020

There were several different kinds of inquiries in 2020.

  • 15 people wrote to us to ask a question or obtain information.
  • 3 wrote to obtain help getting into the Survivors’ Forum.
  • Another 8 people were in contact with us, but we did not provide any concrete help.
  • In 3 cases we were able to provide some kind of a referral, and once we were not.
  • Another 7 people wrote to us to express thanks or to offer to help us.

As word about psychopathy spreads we hope more mental health professionals learn about psychopathy, so more of them are able to help the people who need them. And, remember, we are in the process of preparing online courses to help educate therapists so they can be more helpful to survivors!
