Aftermath Launches Raffle for Giving Tuesday 2018

In honor of Giving Tuesday, we are holding a raffle to give people who donate to the Aftermath Foundation a chance to win one of four coffee mugs or tee shirts that support our organization. These items display paintings by artists who have donated their artwork to support our mission.

For every $10 donated to the Aftermath Foundation between now and December 4th, donors will be given one raffle ticket entered automatically in three raffles. The first raffle winner will receive the coffee mug of their choice. The second and third raffle winners will each receive the tee shirt of their choice (in their size). Pictures of the mugs and tee shirts and information about the artists are shown below.

NOTE: An anonymous donor has agreed to match all donations up to $500 (which means that the first several donors will receive two raffle tickets for each donation of $10 until $500 has been donated).

Donna Allen “Untitled”

Donna Allen is a Seattle-based artist who works with  soft pastel, colored pencil, charcoal, ink and acrylics. She uses a variety of painting methods and techniques to allow feeling, thought and mood to co-mingle on the canvas. More of her art can be seen at:  https://www.pinterest.com/dreamphysh/donnas-art/?lp=true and at https://dreamphysh.com

James William Lambert “Bendaway”

James William Lambert is a Chicago area artist.  Many of his paintings are crowd scenes which  show how, when we come together, we become something more than our individual selves. These birds-eye views are slowly dissolved, through the layering of paint, until the original scene becomes almost unrecognizable, raising questions for the viewer that parallel our predicament: How do we interpret abstraction and how do we adapt to a world we can only imagine? More of his art can be seen at:  http://jwlambertart.com .

Caren Helene Rudman “Afterward” (from Holding on & Letting Go Series, 2017,  mixed media on wood)

Caren Helene Rudman is a Chicago-based artist whose work examines the dichotomies between inside and outside, mind and body, and health and disease. She delves into the notion of genetics, linking past and future generations, revealing the process of letting go, and of rebuilding. Using mixed media, photography, and writing she explores the layers and complexities of the human condition with all its imperfections. Peggy Schutze Shearn “Truth”

Peggy Schutze Shearn is a Chicago-based artist whose work incorporates letterforms, abstract calligraphy and text into colorful semi-abstractions. Her most recent work begins with words which are then lost, to one extent or another, beneath an irregular topography of thickened pigment. More of her art can be seen at:  http://peggyshearn.com/
