On the Homepage and Website…
We uploaded a lot of new material to the website during the year, including four Ask The Expert interviews with Dr. Donald Lynam, Dr. Angela Book, Dr. Michael Woodworth, and Dr. Arielle Baskin-Sommers. Dr. Woodworth opted to deliver his responses via video. The viewer responses have been overwhelmingly positive, so now our experts are given the option of choosing a written response to our questions or a video response.
Two articles for our Through the Eyes of a Survivor series written by survivors were posted on the topics of “Lying and Duping Delight” and “Anger.”
Each year, our volunteers read the current research in the field and write summaries in user-friendly language. During 2022, three Research Summaries from the scientific literature on psychopathy were uploaded. (View the Research Committee report for a more detailed report).
We have had great success attracting visits from foreign-language speakers from around the world. This year the ten countries from which the most people visited were the United States, Germany, Spain, Greece, Poland, the United Kingdom, Canada, Israel, Argentina, and Austria.

Members Page…
On our Members Page we post material that is accessible only to those who have a membership (at the Regular, Silver or Gold level). During 2022, we posted one web conversation and two additional summaries of articles:
We also moved material from our Members Page to the main website to ensure that the most valuable information about the impact of psychopathy is also available to all website visitors. This year we reposted to the home page:
Timely Notices…
We regularly post notices and announcements to keep our visitors apprised of our activities. Here are just a few that were posted in 2022:
We sometimes allow researchers to post notices on our site soliciting participants for their studies. This year we posted a request from a researcher studying the impact of being in a romantic relationship with someone with psychopathic traits.
Behind the Scenes…
We continue to use our Search Engine Optimization (SEO) “meta tag list” to improve our presence on Internet search engines. We also now structure our articles in formats friendly to search engines.
We continue to upgrade our WordPress and php software to keep our site current, secure and fully operational; we also make regular backups of the entire site in case of necessity.
Recent government regulations now require all websites to post their Cookie Policy (i.e., how “cookies” are handled by the website) when a new visitor shows up, apprising them of their policy and offering the visitor options to choose from. A popup about our cookie policy use was added to the website in full compliance with new Internet regulations. (We never share anyone’s information with third parties.)
Revised Forum Guidelines for registering for the forum were posted to make it easier for visitors to register.
The Foundation’s Executive Committee created a list of items for the updating and redesigning of the website. In pursuit of a new website concept, Paula, our Webmaster, has created a “sandbox” (a secure restricted space offline for website experimentation) to facilitate the redesign of our website.
