Website Report – 2024 Annual Report

On the Homepage and Website…

Material: We uploaded a lot of new material to the website during the year as noted in the Mission and Accomplishments report, and the visitor responses have been very positive!

We regularly post notices and announcements to keep our visitors apprised of our activities (with links to the material to make sourcing them easier). Here are just a few that were posted in 2024:

  • Graduate Student Research Award 2023 winner announcement
  • Announcing the posting of our Aftermath 2022 Annual Report
  • Calls for Nominations for our Aftermath Foundation Media Award and Graduate Student Research Award
  • Announcing Aftermath's new email address
  • A link to a financial abuse website resource was added to the Aftermath links page
  • General announcements about our Newsletters, Web Conversations, Ask the Experts, additions to our FAQs page, media coverage of our work, fundraising and Giving Tuesday solicitation and additions of new research articles.

Expanding audience: We have had success in attracting visits to our website from foreign-language speakers in a variety of countries around the world. To help reach people on our website, volunteers translated materials into other languages, including summaries of research articles, frequently asked questions about people with psychopathic traits, and answers to questions by psychopathy experts (“Ask the Expert”), among other things.

In 2024, the number of visitors that came to the Aftermath website decreased by 18,523 over the previous year for a total of 18,307 visitors this year, with many of them coming to the website for the first time. Visitors viewed 59,310 pages. The webpages with the most visits were:

If you would like to help us reach more people by translating material from our website into other languages, please let us know! You can contact us at: support@aftermathfoundation.org

Website Maintenance: Our site is very secure, well-maintained and backed-up to multiple locations. All of our core software platforms (WordPress and phpbb) are updated regularly.

Update: In 2024, our Software Designer was joined by a new volunteer to help redesign the website look and feel while optimizing its functionality. To that end, they began evaluating the designs of other websites that can handle all of the features of our current website and can enhance communicating our values in an effective style. We are seeking additional volunteers with website design experience to join our team to help with this project.
