We received 91 email contacts and messages in 2024. Keeping in mind that we are not counting sales emails, group emails (that are not directed specifically to us), and donations, this represents a big increase from 2023.
In 2024, the country from which the most requests came was the United States. The category from which the second largest share of requests came from “Unknown.” That simply means that people who wrote to us did not indicate where they were living. Even so, there were a substantial number of requests from other countries in North America and Europe and from Australia.
Research has shown there are individuals with psychopathic traits in all countries where studies have been conducted, and, wherever they have been tested, people with psychopathic traits tend to hurt others. We know there are people in many places who are being hurt by those with psychopathy. It is for this reason that we publish information in multiple languages. By the end of 2024, we had some posts about what we know about psychopathy in 14 languages. We are happy that there are people reaching out to us from many parts of the world, and we are always open to finding new ways to reach new people who are being hurt by psychopathic people. If you are able to speak two languages, please consider helping us to translate information about psychopathy into a language that you speak!
Figure 1. Countries from Which Requests Came

Of the 91 requests we received, the largest share was from people inquiring about the support groups that we had launched in 2023. As noted elsewhere, we conducted an additional support group in 2024.
As in prior years, we have listed as communication those case in which someone wrote to us at least once but did not provide enough information for us to provide any specific help.
Three people wrote to us asking to know about mental health professionals in their area who understand psychopathy. In all those cases, we were able to make referrals. Many people who are struggling with recovery from trauma or how to escape an abusive relationship, or even with how to problem-solve a difficult situation with someone with psychopathic traits, will benefit from speaking with professionals who understand this syndrome. If you are struggling with a person with psychopathy, you should always feel free to reach out to us. Our three caveats are: 1) we are not always successful at finding someone who understands psychopathy and who is willing to meet with people; we do our best; 2) we do not charge money for the referrals that we make, but the counselors and therapists who offer professional help do charge for their services; 3) we are not equipped to provide emergency assistance; if you are in an urgent crisis, we recommend calling a help line in your country or going to an emergency room or hospital or police station.
Fourteen other people wrote to ask us specific questions, and another eight to request help in accessing the website, the survivors’ forum, or the members’ page. In 2024, there were ten people who wrote to us to thank us or to offer their help. Several of those individuals have since joined the foundation as volunteers, which we appreciate! But our main goal is to help people in need. To reach out for help, write to us at aftermathfoundationhelp@gmail.com.
