Aftermath Radio: Episode Ten: Controversies in Psychopathy

On this special holiday edition of Aftermath Radio, three prominent names in the field of psychopathy (Dr. Dave Kosson, Professor of Psychology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and co-author of the Psychopathy Checklist: Youth Version; Dr. Liane Leedom, psychiatrist by training and Associate Professor of Counseling and Psychology at the University of Bridgeport and author of 6 books on the subject of psychopathy — including Just Like His Father? A Guide to Overcoming Your Child’s Genetic Connection to Antisocial Behavior, Addiction and ADHD; and Women Who Love Psychopaths — and Dr. Paul Babiak, Industrial and Organizational Psychologist and author of the book, Snakes in Suits: When Psychopaths Go to Work) come together to discuss controversies in psychopathy. Click here to listen to the episode.

We also introduced a new segment called “Aftermath Radio Q and A,” where we respond to listeners’ questions from the Aftermath Radio voicemail (562-912-3541) and email (aftermathradio@kbeach.com). This week we answered a listener’s follow-up questions about previous episodes (psychopathy on college campuses and corporate psychopathy). Additionally, we spoke with a listener and survivor named Frank who called in from Hawaii.

Selecting topics using the “Wheel of Controversy,” Dr. Schug and the experts discussed, debated, and commented on topics such as “Common Myths in Psychopathy” (psychopaths are serial killers, psychopaths are pure evil, psychopaths are not human, psychopathy is untreatable, psychopaths are possessed by the Devil or are vampires, and the eyes of the psychopath—or the psychopathic stare), and “Psychopathy: Born not Made.”

This was the last episode for the Fall 2010 semester, and the show will begin with new episodes in January 2011. From all of us at Aftermath Radio, thank you so much for listening. Happy holidays!
