Psychopath losing their edge

My sister is a Psychopath. Of course she has not received a professional diagnosis but she fits the diagnostic scale perfectly.
She is highly intelligent and has masterminded complex schemes but she was caught out in a highly publicised scheme several years ago and lost her job. She seems to have either lost her edge or not care enough to pretend any more to her birth family. She seems to despise us - perhaps she knows that we know what she is - pretence is pointless.
We have had to engage a lawyer this week to claim back something she forged our signatures on and changed. This is the polite, kind road. The other road is court orders and police.
I don't know what to expect when she receives documents from the lawyer. Perhaps a hissing, spitting maniac or one who gives in now but plots revenge.
Has anyone else had to deal with a Psychopath who has become less clever at their game? Do they become more intent on destruction or fade?
